Photo - Flagstone with Creeping Thyme

Another way to use flagstone for a pathway is to plant
Creeping Thyme inbetween the pieces.

  1. I am going to sheet mulch my front lawn but I would like this flagstone paver with thyme pathway through it. How do I do this? I think the top layer is mulch and I don't want much between the stones, I would like the thyme. Do I dig out the pathway in the grass first before I sheet mulch and then fill in the pathway with compost or soil? Thanks
