Happy Arbor Day!

In honor of Arbor Day, here is one of my favorite trees for San Diego.
This is the Crape Myrtle variety called "Tuscarora".

    Is this variety automatically a standard tree (VS the shrub like variety) or was it trained or pruned to have only one trunk?
