Here are 3 wonderful drought tolerant plants for places with snow. These plants are great for USDA Zones 6-8. Here are 3 of my favorites from the mountain town of Big Bear.
Fernleaf Yarrow (Achillea filipendulina), a great butterfly plant. that grows in a wide variety of conditions.
Shasta Daisies (Leucanthemum x superbum) are perennials that wait for the snow to melt before bursting out of the ground. They are hardy in zones 5-9.
Russian Sage (Perovskia atriplicifolia) flourishes at higher elevations where the soil is better draining than lower California.
