Photo - Peruvian Lily (Alstroemeria sp.)

This is one the great cut flowers that does well here in San Diego.
Alstroemerias will last over a week in a vase which is why
they are such a favorite of florists.  This perennial
will reach 3 feet in width and 3 feet in height when blooming.
Alstroemerias prefer full sun on the coast and some afternoon shade
in the inlands areas of San Diego county. Alstroemerias come in a dozen
different varieties, from reds to pinks to yellows and purples.
